$BTTC Malicious software posing as AI tools attacks browser crypto wallets
A new stealer called Needle Stealer spreads through fake AI software and quietly replaces the extensions of browser wallets. To bypass protection, the malware uses legitimately signed Microsoft files — this helps it avoid raising suspicions with antivirus programs.
The attack targets seven browser wallets. According to available data, Coinbase and MetaMask are not included among the targets. If you install AI tools from unverified sources, it’s a reason to double-check the browser extensions and make sure they haven’t been tampered with.
