Zcash (ZEC) NU7 network upgrade has been officially announced📅. The mainnet is scheduled to go live on November 5, the testnet will start on October 6, and the exact timing will be finalized after an assessment on October 20.
The biggest highlight of this upgrade: block time is compressed from 75 seconds to 25 seconds—tripling the block production speed and significantly boosting transaction throughput! At the same time, the old transaction format will be retired, and the NSM network’s sustainable mechanism will be introduced.
