Toni Fernandes, co-founder of AirAsia, said on Friday that the low-cost airline maintains strong liquidity to manage rising aircraft fuel costs, as he commented on investors’ concerns about the company’s financial situation, with its shares falling to levels close to their lowest in four years.
Fernandes told reporters during a media briefing that AirAsia expects to raise more than $1,000,000,000 by December or January, primarily to refinance existing debt, stressing the company’s ability to manage cash liquidity.
