After the Bank of Japan Raised Rates, the Yen Weakens Across the Board
On September 18, following the Bank of Japan’s scheduled rate hike of 25 basis points, the yen weakened across the board. The US dollar to Japanese yen rose by more than 70 points in the short term, the euro to Japanese yen rose by more than 80 points, the British pound to Japanese yen rose by more than 90 points, the Australian dollar to Japanese yen rose by more than 50 points, the Canadian dollar to Japanese yen rose by more than 50 points, and the Swiss franc to Japanese yen rose by more than 80 points.
