OpenAI has launched Astra for Law for law firms and legal technology companies. According to Foresight News, the product is based on GPT-6 Astra and provides legal analysis writing instructions, work modes, and context settings.

It also includes a search index covering more than 230 million links to U.S. case law, statutes, regulations, and administrative decisions, with support for retrieving authoritative original sources. Several law firms, including Sullivan & Cromwell, Ropes & Gray, and Cooley, have already used the product to build tools for contract review, M&A due diligence, and IPO preparation.
