Just glanced at the chart for a bit and grabbed a quick cup of coffee; I saw $NEAR was building a column up by more than 16%, and the guys—so fomo—jumped in to pile pressure on, Long moving like a festival...
Looking at the new derivatives data, the stench is unmistakable:
- The Top Trader L/S ratio surged to as high as 2.54 (over 71.7% of the positions of the “whale” crowd is now tilting strongly to Long).
- Retail isn’t any worse: 64.1% of accounts are holding Long (L/S ratio 1.79).
- Open Interest (OI) is swelling to nearly 140M USDT, with 24h volume exploding to over 130M USDT spot.
- The funding rate is still slightly positive (+0.008%), not negative yet to force a further Short squeeze.
The Long ship is packed tight with people right up against the psychological resistance at 2.9–3.0. MM’s timeless lesson: when the ship gets too heavy, will the boat really just keep running straight, eh?
A decisive scenario: MM is very likely to do a quick “tail-sweep” to trap Long holders, then sharply pull back to the 2.62–2.68 zone to shake out all the high-leverage crowd before considering a real breakout. If you’re chasing Long in the 2.85–2.9 area right now, be careful and prepare an oxygen tank!
As for me, I’ve already set my limit orders, waiting to pick up the dropped slippers below the range. So, is everyone here currently fomo-chasing Long, or is there someone bold enough to stand in the way of the Short move? Comment your position and see how many “lives” are still left!
