In the crypto market on the 21st—like a delayed overtime shift: during the day everyone drags their feet and refuses to move, and only after 8:00 p.m. do they all stand up and punch the clock.
Market overview: $BTC 76,698 (+1.1% over 24h), $ETH 2,459 (+2.3%), $BNB 728 (+2.3%). The three major components moved in unusually synchronized fashion tonight: they all nudged up by a small notch from yesterday’s long lower wick. The Fear & Greed Index is 50, neutral—almost the same as yesterday’s 51. Prices have regained a bit of “blood,” but sentiment hasn’t caught up.
The loudest among the popular altcoins is ZEC at 1,357 (+11.1%, with about $2.7 billion in 24h trading volume), NEAR at 2.87 (+16.1%), and UNI at 6.91 (+10.1%), all riding the heat. By contrast, ARB at 0.1634 is down 3.4%—one of the few that’s moving against the trend among the top by trading volume. The momentum is concentrated in privacy coins and a few L1/L2 chain targets; it’s not a broad-based rally.
My read: this morning, the FOMC delivered a 25bp rate hike, and in the Treasury’s 9/16 yield curve, the 10-year has already moved above 5.01%—macroeconomic pressure is still hanging over things. Yet the crypto market has flipped back to green in the opposite direction, which suggests that the current bid is placing more confidence in the liquidity/fundamental backdrop. In the short term it’s neutral to mildly bullish, but I won’t chase—let’s first see whether BTC can hold 76,000. Above that, 78,000 is the spot it’s been repeatedly hit back from over the past few days. If it breaks below 75,000, this rebound is basically over. In the medium term, I’m more defensive—don’t catch the last baton with alts that have run up too quickly.
The above is just my personal record of the screen, not any advice. You decide the direction—DYOR.
