Volatility shows the scale of price movement, while ATR estimates the average range of recent bars. ATR does not indicate direction. When ATR rises, natural fluctuations become wider, so an overly tight Stop more often ends up inside normal noise. Compare EntryāStop with the current volatility and donāt increase risk just because of large candles.
The practical principle is simple: first we define the context and level, then we wait for confirmation on a closed candle, and only after that do we evaluate Entry, Stop, and potential targets. One separate element should not replace the full trading setup.
