Why does cryptocurrency have value?

Today a big sister asked me this question, and I answered like this:

Put a 100-yuan banknote and a roll of toilet paper together.

When you go to the bathroom, you use the toilet paper, not the 100-yuan bill, because you believe the toilet paper will get you clean.

When you go out into society to buy things, you use the 100-yuan bill because you and everyone else believe in it.

So when you’re in the bathroom, the toilet paper has value because at that moment you believe in it. When you’re buying things in society, the 100-yuan bill has value because you and everyone else believe in it!

Did you catch the logic? Trust → circulation → value

The more people who believe, the more valuable it is—nothing more than that.
The world isn’t complicated; it’s just that you haven’t thought it through and figured it out yet!
