Japan's household assets rose 11% from a year earlier to a record 2,519 trillion yen as of the end of June, according to the Bank of Japan's quarterly flow of funds report. According to Sina Finance, the increase was driven by higher stock prices, with household stock assets jumping 47% to 486 trillion yen, while cash and deposits rose 0.5% to 1,132 trillion yen. The Bank of Japan held 46.7% of outstanding Japanese government bonds, the lowest share since the second quarter of 2019, and foreign investors held 7.9% of Japanese government bonds.
