The annual meeting vote didn’t pass, and ADA dropped to 0.19: losing this line means the discussion has to change topics

In mid-September, two on-chain votes on this chain failed to pass. The first feedback came from the market: ADA is now trading at 0.19, down 4.82% over the past 24 hours. Among the top 20 coins by market cap, its decline is among the most significant. Reports have pointed the finger at an annual meeting that didn’t secure funding, saying the event couldn’t be held. In the end, the project team confirmed it themselves, but the price had already said everything.

On the same day, what about everyone else—comparisons are even more direct. BNB is at 716.07, down just 0.89%; LINK is at 10.81, down 4.49%. The overall market is down around 1.4%—a drop of 0.9 percentage points versus 4.8 percentage points isn’t the same thing. The difference in between can only be explained by the project itself.

Now look at the position that’s been mentioned again and again: 0.20. CoinJournal says ADA is still trading above 0.20, with derivatives indicators leaning bearish and upside bounces being capped. This level has been talked about for two months. It’s easy to hear it as background noise, but it’s the only boundary that’s clear right now. If it holds back above it, the story that comes after can still be told; if it doesn’t, then the discussion has to change topics.

What’s interesting is that at the same time there was another piece of news: the Cardano Foundation will be the Gold Sponsor for the September 29th “Zurich CV Summit,” with the schedule on track and the booth still booked. With one’s own annual meeting hanging in the air, while someone else’s meeting proceeds as usual—put together, those two states say a lot. Technological progress won’t be wiped out to zero by a single vote. And fewer people willing to pay for in-person meetups is a signal, not a coincidence.

Whether it drops 4.82% in a day or a budget line gets rejected—both are things that have already happened. What determines whether a chain has a future or not is the group of people who are still submitting code today, still getting things done. When the market isn’t lively yet, the project still pushes forward—that in itself is proof that the same group of people is still there 🐶. The captain’s dog on Starship is the same way: it doesn’t rely on a grand celebration; it relies on someone taking it out on time every day.
