😐 Hackers have started using Ethereum to control a banking virus.
Researchers have discovered malicious software called KREMLIN, which steals passwords, session tokens, and other data via Chrome and Edge extensions.
Extensions can be installed WITHOUT the user’s consent, bypassing Chromium security mechanisms.
Most interestingly, the attackers use Ethereum smart contracts to update the addresses of command-and-control servers and virus download sources, making it harder to block the infrastructure.
