The Clarity Act didn’t pass and it wasn’t by much.

The official result: 49 votes in favor, 50 against. 60 were needed. Not only did it fail to reach the "cloture" threshold—it didn’t even reach a simple majority.

Only 4 Republicans broke ranks with the party line, and even then it still wasn’t enough—7 Democrats crossing the vote were needed, and they didn’t make it.

What does this mean in practice? Crypto regulation in the U.S. is still in the hands of the SEC and the CFTC through administrative rulemaking, not through a clear law from Congress—something that any future administration can easily reverse.

The next real chance for a law like this might not come until 2030, according to Senator Lummis herself.

The market already felt it: the Fear & Greed Index went from 69 (greed) yesterday to 51 (neutral) today—the cooling was fast.

Are you surprised by the result, or did you see it coming already? 👇
