Sudden jump in U.S. inventories$OIS.US

Sources, citing data from the American Petroleum Institute, said crude inventories rose by 7.1 million barrels during the week ended September 11, while analysts had expected a decline of about 1.6 million barrels, according to a Reuters poll.

Institute data showed that unexpected increases in gasoline and diesel inventories weighed on oil prices, although higher inventories in some regions does not change the fact that crude supply remains tight in the global market, according to a note from Haitong Futures.
