Bitcoin Core 32 entered its final testing phase on September 14, and its version is expected to be released on October 10. This release does not change Bitcoin’s consensus rules, but focuses on optimizing fee estimation and speeding up block processing. The fee estimator now compares estimates based on the mempool transactions against historical block data, which makes it possible to reduce the recommended fees more quickly when network congestion decreases. Block-processing improvements allow nodes to retrieve transaction data from the database simultaneously using multiple threads, reducing synchronization time. Several security vulnerabilities have also been fixed.
