$HOLO
About Holo (HOT), it’s a fairly unique project because it isn’t a traditional blockchain, but a completely different distributed framework.
What is Holo and Holochain?
We need to differentiate the engine from the coin:
Holochain (The network): It’s an alternative to the traditional blockchain. Instead of requiring every node on the network to validate each global transaction (which often saturates networks like Ethereum), Holochain is centered on the agent. Each user manages their own private blockchain and only interacts/validates data with the nodes involved in that specific transaction. This makes it theoretically infinitely scalable and with almost zero network costs.
Holo (HOT): It’s the current ERC-20 token (Ethereum) that serves as a bridge for funding and liquidity for the project.
HoloFuel: It’s the native credit that will replace HOT once the network is 100% operational. Holders of HOT will be able to swap their tokens for HoloFuel at a 1:1 ratio.
Key Points of the Project
Storage and Compute Focus: It works like a marketplace where people can rent out disk space and the compute capacity of their computers to host applications built on Holochain (dApps), receiving HoloFuel in return.
Scalability and Lightweight Networks: Since it doesn’t require intensive mining or continuous global validation, it’s extremely efficient in energy consumption.
