Yesterday (September 15, 2026), the U.S. Senate failed to pass the procedural vote on the “Digital Asset Market Clarity Act” (简称 CLARITY Act / “Clarity Act”). The cloture vote was 49 in favor and 50 against, falling short of the 60-vote threshold required to move forward.

This is one of the most important market-structure legislative efforts in the crypto industry in recent years. It was originally intended to clarify the SEC and CFTC’s regulatory roles and provide a more stable federal framework for spot markets and trading platforms.

Failing to pass did not “kill” crypto, but it has indeed brought immediate selling pressure to the market and long-term uncertainty.
