A majorchain shutdown announcement turned $LSK into a short-term squeeze-and-mill. The Lisk team announced it would close the mainnet in October and pivot to enterprise services, adding on top of a token burn proposal. With funds taking advantage of the momentum, it was artificially pumped: it surged more than 790% every 24 hours at one point, then quickly dropped, seemingly indicative of ramp-and-dump, and triggering a large number of cascading liquidations of short positions.

High hype doesn’t equal a fundamentals reversal. The current price is about $0.4386, 24-hour trading volume is about $276.85 million, and market cap is about $163.4 million. A spike in trading volume more likely reflects intense turnover and leveraged forced liquidation rather than the idea being fully realized. The mainnet shutdown, the implementation details of the burn, and the enterprise-service transition still need to be verified.

In this kind of market, chasing price or shorting against the trend can both get squeezed from both directions. Keep your position sizing and leverage restrained.
