Argentina aligns with the OECD’s crypto-asset reporting framework CARF: at the latest, it will launch automatic exchange of tax information for crypto transactions by September 2029, with approximately 77 jurisdictions currently committed to participate.

Before implementation, it must be written into domestic law. Exchanges/intermediary service providers will need to identify users and report data such as name, address, tax residence, tax identification number, and transfer details for buying and selling. The official position is that no new taxes will be introduced, and no new tax liabilities will automatically be created; the tax authority ARCA mainly uses standardized cross-border data to cross-check against filed declarations.
