Hello, Community! 👋 In the world of derivatives and futures trading, knowing how to execute your orders correctly is key to maintaining discipline and managing risk properly.
Today you will learn how to set up a Limit Order in the BTC/USDT pair on Binance Futures.
❓ What is a Limit Order?
A limit order allows you to set the exact price at which you are willing to enter the market (buy/long or sell/short). Unlike a market order, the limit order is not executed immediately, but waits until the asset’s price reaches the level you configured.
🛠️ Step-by-Step to Set Your Limit Order
1️⃣ Go to Binance Futures:
Open your Binance app or website.
Go to the Futures section and select the BTCUSDT Perpetual (Perpetual) pair.
2️⃣ Configure Leverage and Margin:
Margin: Choose between Isolated or Cross. (Recommended: Isolated if you’re just starting).
Leverage: Select the appropriate leverage level for your risk management (example: 5x, 10x).
3️⃣ Select the Order Type:
In the order panel, change the order type to Limit.
4️⃣ Enter the Order Parameters:
Price: Enter the price at which you want your order to be triggered (for example, if BTC is at $65,000 and you want to enter on a pullback, set it to $64,200).
Quantity (Amount / Size): Enter the position size or slide the percentage bar according to the capital you’ve allocated.
5️⃣ Set Stop Loss (SL) and Take Profit (TP) — crucial! 🛡️
Check the TP/SL box.
Take Profit: Your profit target.
Stop Loss: Your maximum acceptable loss level.
6️⃣ Confirm the Position:
Click Buy/Long or Sell/Short depending on your analysis.
Done! Your order will appear in the Open Orders tab until the market reaches your target price.
⚠️ Risk Management Tips
Don’t trade based on emotion: Let the price come to your order.
Define your risk in advance: Never open an order without a pre-set Stop Loss.
Monitor liquidity: During extremely high volatility, limit orders may experience slight slippage if the price moves very fast.
