Elon Musk said he is living in a new Airstream trailer in Memphis, parked a short distance from xAI's most ambitious project so far. According to Sina Finance, the move comes as xAI is rapidly expanding its Colossus supercomputer center and building a fourth data center called Minihard in late July.

Musk made the remarks on Monday while recording the All-In podcast with Gwynne Shotwell, president and chief operating officer of SpaceX. Shotwell praised the unusual living arrangement as evidence of Musk's habit of staying fully focused on projects he cares about.

The article said Musk has long preferred to live near major projects when he wants to oversee them personally. It cited Walter Isaacson's biography of Musk, which described earlier periods when Musk slept at a small office while building Zip2, under his desk while preparing X.com, and at times on the floor during Tesla's production ramp-up.

The article also said Musk has owned luxury homes in the past, but sold many of his properties in 2020 and moved to Texas with his then-partner Claire Boucher, also known as Grimes.
