The U.S. government is pressuring Mexican officials to accept new rules on artificial intelligence hardware exports, according to people familiar with the matter. According to ChainCatcher, trade officials from the two countries are expected to hold another round of talks in Washington as early as next week.

The discussions are also expected to cover the possibility of lowering U.S. tariffs on steel, aluminum, and automobiles.
