🚨 CLARITY Act vote is coming soon! A regulatory boost—why could $BTC actually drop first and then rise?
The U.S. Senate will hold its first procedural vote on the CLARITY Act, but there is still uncertainty.
In the latest version, Republicans have added limits on encrypted financial interests for public officials, and require certain major encrypted interests to be sold off or placed into blind trusts; Democrats believe the measures are still not strong enough, especially regarding the encrypted interests of Trump and his family.
So what traders see tonight is not just a “regulatory positive,” but also a political standoff between the two parties.
I believe the truly important part of CLARITY is that it could gradually move the U.S. crypto market from “regulatory uncertainty” toward “clear rules.”
In the past, institutions didn’t want in—rather, they were worried about unclear asset classification, regulatory jurisdiction, and compliance responsibilities.
If the bill ultimately passes, top assets like BTC, $ETH will likely be the first to benefit, and only afterward might the impact spread to $SOL , RWA, stablecoins, and DeFi.
But I don’t think it’s a case of “all coins going up together.”
On the contrary, I think it may push the crypto market further toward being “like U.S. equities”:
capital will increasingly prioritize compliance, real businesses, revenue, and network effects;
projects without real businesses—only story-driven speculation—may find it harder and harder to attract liquidity.
So the clearer the regulation becomes, the more the market may diversify.
Now, let’s talk trading.
I won’t front-load a heavy position just because of the vote expectation, and I won’t chase after the first big bullish candle when the news hits.
Major policy announcements often follow a pattern:
positive news released → rapid rally → profit-taking → short-term pullback.
So I focus more on how capital behaves after the news.
If BTC rises while OI (open interest) increases rapidly, then subsequently spikes and falls, I’ll be wary of chasing.
If, after the first wave of the move ends, the price retests and does not break key levels—and once OI cools off and then stabilizes again—I’ll consider taking a right-side long.
My core view is:
If CLARITY ultimately lands, the real benefit won’t be “how much it pumps tonight,” but rather that regulatory barriers for U.S. institutions entering the crypto market may further decrease.
Capital may concentrate in leading assets and real businesses, while weaker fundamentals and “shady” altcoins could diverge even more.
So I care more about “who can absorb institutional capital” rather than “which coin will pump fastest tonight.”
