After pulling up to 2614 following the $ETH move, ETH dumps back to 2490—before the bill is released, can we still short?
Brothers, last night’s ETH ride was too exciting! It shot up from 2485 straight to a peak of 2614.99, then slid lower all the way down. Now it’s back around 2490. But yesterday Sha Ge’s entry points were excellent—most people have already booked profits, and for those who didn’t, Sha Ge also helped them take profits. So this rally doesn’t affect us much.
However, after last night’s rally, many fans are asking: with a bill being released today, can we still keep shorting?
First, let’s look at the fundamentals:
Bernstein’s latest view: the market still leans bearish toward the procedural vote on tonight’s “CLARITY Bill.” Even if it passes, it only means the procedural steps to start the debate—final effectiveness is still far away. Also, if the bill faces obstacles combined with a more hawkish Fed decision, the crypto market may see a significant pullback; conversely, if progress exceeds expectations, it could bring short-term catalysts.
And after ETH pushed up to 2614 last night, the price action didn’t hold the highs. Instead, it formed a “door-shaped” pattern and kept drifting lower all the way back to 2490. This shows bulls lack strength to push higher, and heavy selling pressure exists at high levels. Currently, RSI is back near 50, and momentum is clearly weakening.
The bigger trend is still bearish. As long as there isn’t an upside surprise from the bill, any rebound is an opportunity to short.
Overhead resistance is 2520–2540. If the rebound stalls here, that’s the short entry zone.
Support: first look at 2450; if that breaks, then watch 2400.
Don’t chase price, don’t bet on the bill outcome. Wait for the rebound to reach the resistance area and then enter only when you see a stall signal. Keep your defense in place, control your position size, and wait to do right-side trading after the news lands!
