How much will the upcoming Federal Reserve meeting impact Bitcoin?

The situation is: it’s down, but some people are quietly buying the dip.

Due to the news, Bitcoin recently dropped from around 80,000 to about 77,000. What’s interesting is that ETFs are quietly pulling in money instead, suggesting that some institutions believe the drop is already “at the bottom,” and they’re picking up shares on the cheap.

Rate hikes aren’t surprising—the key is the “tone.”

The market already largely expected a hike, so if it does happen, it likely won’t cause a massive crash. What everyone is really watching is the Fed chair’s “words”: will they continue to deliver tough talk (hawkish), or will they hint that “it’s not going to be increased for a while” (dovish).

Rate hikes make the interest from putting money in banks or buying government bonds higher. Since it’s so lucrative to earn easy returns, people naturally don’t want to move money into a high-risk asset like Bitcoin. Once funds are pulled out, the price is inevitably under pressure.
