After 14:00 and 15:00 both closed lower for two consecutive hours, at 16:00 the full hour saw a rebound from 0.5899 back to 0.6193, up about 5%. In that hour, trading value was about $6.66 million, almost equal to the prior hour’s sell-off volume. The buy-side hasn’t contracted, but the price has only just returned to the previous support area—chasing in here is like letting others confirm the breakout for you.
This move also doesn’t look like a pure high-leverage push against the ceiling: the OI (open interest) rose only about 0.4% in the past hour; the 4-hour funding rate is about +0.021%; global long/short accounts are close to a 50/50 split; but the top positions are around 70.8% long. Price repair is faster than new positioning, suggesting there’s short covering and support coming in—being long is fine, but the risk of crowded trades has already started to show.
I’m only waiting for a pullback to 0.600–0.607 and for it to hold, or for a 15-minute close above 0.622—then the next candle should still hold 0.614. If, on a 1-hour close, price breaks below 0.582, the rebound fails. An up move without a lot of new leverage being added is healthier—or is it just that a batch of people who are willing to keep chasing has disappeared?
