Have you noticed a strange phenomenon?
Sometimes, even when you clearly got the direction right at the end, you still end up losing money.
When you think it will rise, you chase in—only to see it drop first. When you think it will fall, you open a short—and it suddenly spikes up. After going back and forth like this a few times, you realize the market itself hasn’t really been that costly—you’re the one whose account has taken a hit.
The problem is this: you’ve been guessing the price, but you haven’t been seriously waiting for the market.
Especially with small-cap coins and low-liquidity conditions, price can easily be amplified by shifts in market sentiment. A few large orders can make the candlestick chart look beautifully bullish—and also instantly shake out the people who chased in. So when I’m watching the market now, the first thing I do isn’t to look for “where I can buy.” Instead, I ask myself first: Is this market worth trading? The 4-hour chart is only for deciding the direction. If it’s rising, look for a long setup; if it’s falling, look for a short setup. If it’s just choppy and oscillating, I simply give up.
The 1-hour chart is for finding the location—support, resistance, the previous highs and lows—those are the only places worth waiting for. The price has already moved a long way; I won’t chase just because I’m afraid of missing out. The 15-minute timeframe is only for final confirmation: Is the breakout backed by volume? After a pullback, can price hold its position? Has the structure broken?
If the conditions aren’t met, the mouse can just stay there.
I used to think高手 (experts) are the ones who spot opportunities early. Now I feel that real maturity in trading means allowing yourself to be a bit late. You don’t need to buy at the absolute low, or sell at the absolute high. You also don’t need to prove that you can predict the market. After the trend is established, then you follow it. Wait until the position is there, and only act when the signal appears. The worst thing is turning a simple trade into a guessing game just to grab that tiny bit of profit.
