My take: over the next 7 days, I lean toward➡️ consolidating with a bullish bias.
Three reasons:
First, it’s already dropped enough. From the highs, it’s nearly an 80% fall. This drawdown wasn’t caused by the project’s fundamentals deteriorating—it's driven by overall market sentiment. Chainlink’s node network and partnership projects—what should be running is still running. I haven’t heard that any partner has bailed.
Second, the sentiment index fell from the weekly average of 63 to 57, which suggests panic is being released, but it hasn’t reached the point of despair. At this kind of level, reversals are often the easiest—people still have some confidence, but they’re stuck and scared, so they don’t dare to move.
Third, volume isn’t bad. During the drop, volume expanded, which implies someone is stepping in. I can’t guarantee whether this thing will truly land on the ground, but from a positioning/competition for funds perspective, the main players don’t show signs of exiting at this level.
So when would I admit I’m wrong? Only one scenario: if LINK breaks below $10.5, that would mean this isn’t a normal pullback—it would indicate a fundamental issue that I don’t know about. At that point, I’ll reassess.
In the end, who is most affected by this drop in LINK? It’s not institutions—it’s the batch of FOMO retail traders. For institutions, a drawdown like this is actually an opportunity to build positions slowly.
