Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said claims that the International Atomic Energy Agency observed construction activity at Pickaxe Mountain were baseless. According to Sina Finance, he said the discussion about the site was “pure media hype” and added, “Strictly speaking, we cannot even say it is a nuclear facility.” He also said Iran had provided the International Atomic Energy Agency with all necessary or required information under its obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
