Last week, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a net outflow of $463 million for the week. A strong run of three consecutive weeks of net inflows was thus broken. On Thursday alone, there was a daily outflow of $283 million, the largest since July.
First, let’s be clear: this doesn’t mean capital across the entire market is collectively fleeing. The selling pressure mainly came from ARKB, with a net weekly outflow of $234 million. The long-established Grayscale GBTC also saw an outflow of $129 million, ranking second.
What’s really worth watching is that the fund flows show a clear split. In the same period, Ethereum ETFs recorded a net inflow of $197 million—completely the opposite. On Friday alone, they pulled in $216 million, with BlackRock’s ETHA leading.
For crypto, this looks more like internal rotation of capital rather than a retreat. Throughout September, Bitcoin ETFs are still net inflow, totaling $307 million. Money is starting to pick what’s cheaper to buy, not blindly chase the top leader.
Do you think this ETF reshuffling is the prelude to altcoin season, or the last jump at the tail end of a bull market? Let’s chat in the comments.
