Northern Star Resources Ltd., Australia’s largest gold miner, has appointed mining veteran Mark Cutifani to its board and named a second non-executive director proposed by activist shareholder Elliott Investment Management LP, according to Bloomberg.

The company said the appointments add Cutifani and the Elliott-backed director to the board.
