Iraq said on September 13 local time that it has begun gradually reopening three border crossings with Iran that had previously been closed. Passenger traffic and commercial trade through the crossings will be restored in stages from September 13 to September 17, according to Jiemian News. The move follows Iraq's September 12 closure of several border crossings with Iran and its agreement to conduct a joint investigation with Iran into drone launch platforms found near the border. Saudi Arabia had strongly condemned drone attacks on its east-west oil pipeline that were launched from inside Iraq.
