Equivalent to traditional deposits — it sounds like banks can just get on-chain and receive a green light. I’m focusing on the second half of the same statement: the nature is the same as ordinary deposits; it doesn’t mean the product was approved just because it was tokenized, or that insurance is automatically applied.

OSFI 9/10 states that “Tokenized deposits are not legally distinct from traditional deposits,” and it also anchors this with Guidelines B-13 and B-10—before launch, you still need to find the lead supervisor. Technical neutrality deals with legal nature, not loosening the rules for issuing tokens.
