However, she indicated that dialogue has been able to be institutionalized and highlighted that they have achieved «small victories» that have enabled the Venezuelan working class to have real income today, «although it is not enough».
He said he hopes that as the country’s economy recovers, workers will also work to reclaim all their labor rights.
Leida Marcela León assured that what has happened in the country has been a temporary relaxation of sanctions, but not a lifting of them.
«That uncertainty means that when we are at the table debating possible methods or ways of recovery and another political crisis comes, we go back and we can’t achieve what we have reached,» he added.
She also specified that «we have recovered a bit of real income,» but «not the impact on benefits in collective contracts or benefits for social services, holidays, and bonuses».
The president of the ASI Venezuela Central of Workers said on Unión Radio that at the Social Dialogue Table they are discussing issues such as wage recovery, where topics such as bonuses, vacations, the discussion of collective agreements are included, how wage scales will be, and she added that next week they will establish the entire methodology so that «this wage recovery situation has quick results».
«We are looking at alternatives without losing the right to be able to, as companies demand their productivity, we demand our savings capacity and our guarantee for old age,» he said.
He stated that currently, the retired workforce is larger than the active workforce in the public sector: «there are more than 6 million and the workforce (active) does not reach 3 million in the public sector».
