According to Franceinfo, the public prosecutor’s office in Rennes said that four men suspected of being involved in a cryptocurrency-asset kidnapping and extortion case have been formally indicted, with two of them being held in pretrial detention. The case occurred in April this year: the suspects broke into a residence in Ploudalmézeau, in the Finistère department, controlled and bound a family of five, and then forced the victims to hand over the password to their crypto wallet. The prosecution said that one male member of the family is active in the cryptocurrency sector. According to Le Télégramme, the assets in the wallet are valued at about €700,000. This week, police arrested the four suspects in multiple locations across France, aged between 18 and 37.
