Have you noticed? $BTC today is down less than 2%, but I’ve seen a few counterfeit coins’ swings that are absolutely insane.
First, the ones that went up—bull is here. In the last 24 hours it surged 66%. Now it’s at $0.135, with volume of 67 million. This kind of pump doesn’t look like something retail can push; it’s basically the “team” self-performing. Some people say it’s concept hype, but I looked around and couldn’t find any decent news catalyst. $BTC is still in its consolidation range—if these meme coins dare to run like this, then either the project team is distributing/“selling into the pump,” or they’re specifically designed to harvest longs. I won’t chase. This kind of rally comes fast and leaves fast—getting in is basically handing money to the team.
Now the ones that fell—NFP got smashed from 0.0054 down to 0.00181, a 65% drop, with volume of 3.8 million. On the same day, PYR fell 57%, VIC dropped 43%, and VANRY slid 37%. This isn’t a coincidence; it’s clearly someone collectively dumping. Either a large position was liquidated, or it’s panic after the market sentiment turned bearish.
These back-to-back crashes actually make me a bit wary. I’m not saying it’s a bottom to pick up, but it feels like the market’s risk appetite could be declining. If $BTC keeps breaking down below 78,000, then these smaller coins may still get beaten up further.
What do you think—this move is an opportunity or a trap?
