On September 9, the Solana on-chain prediction market World’s standalone domain, world.xyz, officially opened its doors to visitors, with more than 1 million waitlist users flooding in. The offering covers every regular-season NFL game, seven major football leagues, F1, the midterm elections in 2026, and even put the Federal Reserve’s next policy decision up on the board.
This is not World’s first appearance. Starting in July, it quietly ran embedded within the Phantom wallet, launching more than 150,000 markets in total. But on the day the standalone site went live, traffic far exceeded expectations—so much so that the site overloaded and went offline. In an official post published in the early hours of September 10, the team admitted that the traffic that day was enough to “literally overload the site.” Out of precaution, they temporarily shut down the website to carry out repairs, stressing that all funds are safe, and that the rewards campaign would resume after the fix. As of the time of the post, the site had still not come back online.
The direct driver of the traffic surge is the first transaction reward campaign officially launched. The process is: create an account, link your X account, complete a prediction trade, and then claim the reward settled in Phantom’s stablecoin $CASH. The official has not published a fixed amount schedule. Some users say they received $378, while the community claims the maximum is around the $500 range. A crypto influencer, Chen Xiaomeng, posted that the reward amount is related to the number of followers on the X account—10,000 followers corresponds to roughly $80. This claim has not been confirmed by the official, but the community generally views it as a potential logic behind the campaign design.
Technical issues have also emerged. Some users report that USDC deposits were not credited, that the deposit address changed after refreshing, or that they did not receive a reward after completing a trade. Some countries are restricted from participating, meaning not all global users are able to claim rewards.
World’s settlement system is built entirely around the stablecoin $CASH. $CASH is designed by Phantom for everyday use, pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar, and issued through Bridge and Stripe’s Open Issuance platform. Prediction contracts are presented in a binary “Yes/No” format, and both opening and settlement are carried out in $CASH. In the front end, users can exchange USDC or $SOL for $CASH to participate in trades—the profits, rewards, and closing payouts all come in $CASH. Each trade creates a use case for Phantom’s stablecoin, rather than relying on external settlement assets like USDC.
Phantom’s support for World is not limited to wallet connection. Starting June 1, 2026, new prediction positions opened within Phantom will be provided by World Prediction Markets; previously, this entry point used Kalshi and DFlow. World first embedded into Phantom—meaning it directly captured the existing traffic of Solana’s largest consumer-facing wallet segment. This is the key reason it could accumulate 50,000+ independent predictors in the short term. After the standalone site launched, the two paths ran in parallel: Phantom provides the front end, wallet, the $CASH account, and user distribution, while World provides the market protocol, order routing, and settlement logic. Chainlink supplies high-speed market data and automated settlement via Data Streams and CRE, replacing traditional manual review or token-holder voting mechanisms.
Based on the data, World still has a clear gap compared with major mainstream platforms. According to Dune data, World’s current total prediction trading volume is about $31 million, with roughly 53.6k independent predictors; meanwhile, Polymarket’s total trading volume in the week of August 17 was about $2.34 billion, and the number of active addresses in July was about 573k. World chose to attract users with a first-transaction reward rather than points or an airdrop—an approach that is quite pragmatic given this competitive landscape. The design of linking an X account helps identify real users and filter out bots, while also leveraging social sharing to broaden coverage. If the community’s speculation that reward amounts are linked to follower count is true, it would mean World is more inclined to attract users with some influence, rather than simply chasing address numbers. According to official information, World currently has no points program and has not disclosed any token issuance plans.
From the perspective of the Solana ecosystem, World’s user-acquisition campaign serves two goals at once: attracting new users to the Phantom wallet, and expanding the circulation of the $CASH stablecoin. According to CoinMarketCap data, $CASH’s current market cap is about $125 million, which is vastly smaller than $USDT’s $18.838 billion and $USDC’s $7.431 billion. Every World trade and every reward payout increases the real demand for $CASH usage. And since Phantom is Solana’s largest consumer-facing wallet, its user base also provides a potential distribution network for $CASH. Whether World can retain users after the trading reward campaign ends, and convert first-time traders into long-term users, still needs further observation.
