China's Ministry of Commerce said International Trade Negotiator and Vice Minister Li Chenggang signed a framework agreement with Cape Verde's Minister of Economy, Trade, Industry and Digital Transformation Antonio Baptista in Beijing on September 9. The agreement sets out deeper cooperation in trade and economic ties, with a focus on sustainable development, inclusive growth, Cape Verde's agricultural upgrading, the blue economy and manufacturing, according to Jiemian News.

The ministry said this was the 40th framework agreement China has signed with an African country. It also said the two sides have substantively concluded talks on an early-harvest arrangement under the China-Cape Verde economic partnership agreement and exchanged views on bilateral trade and economic issues.
