Meta is discussing measures with the South Korean government to restrict children's use of social media. According to Sina Finance, Meta Asia-Pacific product public policy general manager Philip Chua made the remarks at an "Smart Screen" roundtable in Seoul.

He said Meta and the South Korean government are discussing steps to protect teenagers from online harms on social media platforms. The measures he mentioned include limiting children's use of Facebook and Instagram to two hours a day and restricting access to those platforms late at night. Chua said he opposes a blanket restriction on social media, arguing that such measures could have unintended consequences, and added that any limits should allow parents to intervene when necessary.
