This move isn’t simple.

$IOST suddenly surged up 127%; the price doubled in a straight line and even bent into another curve. Trading volume came out at $47 million—this kind of volume isn’t something retail investors can produce. I looked around and didn’t see any legitimate piece of good news, and the project team hasn’t posted anything on Twitter. An abrupt rally driven by no information like this is most likely the market maker putting on a one-person show.

Can you chase it? My answer is no.

The reason is simple: the 127% gain played out within 4 hours. The candlesticks will almost certainly be a straight-up, straight-down pattern. If you jump in at that point, you’re likely to get hung up at the top where people are just blowing air. The purpose of the pump is to find someone to take the bag. When you enter, you become the price target the operator set.

Now let’s talk about that other side of the crash. $NFP dropped 65% in a day, PYR fell 57%, and these few smaller coins collapsed at the same time—this isn’t a coincidence. Look at BTC still hovering around 77,900, down only 0.83%. That suggests this is a liquidity stampede in the alts—money is withdrawing from shitcoins and flowing into BTC as a safe-haven.

At a time like this, the panic selling hasn’t fully cleared yet. Bottom fishing? Don’t rush to catch a falling knife.

Do you think $IOST is an opportunity or a trap? Are there any brothers still buried in the mountains?
