$BNT price grinds just below the moving average line. Meanwhile, the open interest keeps getting thicker and thicker. After sliding all the way down from the three-day high, every rebound is softer than the last. I can recognize this setup with my eyes closed—shorts are adding more positions. The active buy orders are so aggressive they nearly eat up the opposing orders, and trading activity has jumped several times. Yet the price still won’t budge upward; the support is all just an illusion. Big accounts are shouting bullish loudly, but their real, hard-cash positions are actually tilting toward the short side. Even the funding rate has flipped from negative to positive. Holding the line is basically giving the shorts a stepping stone. Once this wave of buying power burns out, what’s left is a slow, downward drift; longs can only watch unrealized losses roll higher and higher.
