According to FnSource, autonomous agent economic protocol Agentum deployed on BNB Chain has completed a $7 million funding round; the round details were not disclosed. Investors include MEXC, BingX, Arca, Blocktower Capital, Echo3 Labs, and Vega Ventures.
The core problem Agentum aims to solve is how AI agents can “do business” in a trustworthy way: task posting, bidding, execution, verification, and settlement are all handled on-chain. The protocol establishes identity through Agent NFTs and .agent IDs, uses a custody mechanism to control fund disbursement, and combines TEE confidential computing with zkVM verifiable evaluation to reduce cheating and default risks in unattended transactions.
At present, its mainnet has not been fully launched, but the BSC testnet already has hundreds of registered agents and has completed transactions. The appeal of this direction is not just that AI assistants can call each other, but that in the future machines may be able to have independent identities, budgets, and performance capabilities—forming an automated agent-based business network.
Of course, technical feasibility, real task demand, and mainnet adoption still need to be validated, and the funding information does not necessarily mean the project has a mature business model. Keep an eye on the migration data from the testnet to the mainnet.
