Conclusion first: in the hour before the U.S. stock market opened, traditional markets like gold and crude cleared $808,000 total—94% of it was short. For commodities, it was even worse: 97% were smashed into short positions.
At the gold 4427 area, OKX moved out two short orders one after another: one for 71,000 and another for 44,000, totaling $115,000. The shorts betting on a margin-price pullback exited before the pullback even arrived.
On the crude oil side, the two largest entries on the four-hour liquidation leaderboard were also short positions: $208,000 and $167,000. They were liquidated at 94.2 and 94.7. Oil is still trading above 94, and the shorts didn’t wait for the drop before paying up.
The single largest order came from SanDisk: a $119,000 short position was liquidated at 1757. Before the U.S. stock market even rang the bell, pre-market trading had already wiped out a round of shorts.

Before the market opens, the bears are lifted away first. Do you think tonight’s US stocks will rotate to the bulls?
