🇺🇸 The US increases the buyback of government bonds: will $BTC
get an additional boost?

The US Treasury begins increasing the volume of long-term Treasury buybacks. Previously, the maximum size of a single operation was $2 billion; now it is at least $4 billion. The goal is to support market liquidity and curb pressure on long-term yields.

📅 On September 9, the Treasury will announce the exact size of the first increased operation, and on September 10 it will conduct a bond buyback with maturities in 10–20 years.

What’s interesting is that $10 billion is not the officially stated figure, but Morgan Stanley’s upper estimate. Other analysts believe a more likely range is around $5–8 billion.

💡 What could this mean for $BTC ?

If a larger buyback helps keep Treasury yields from rising and eases financial conditions, it could become a positive factor for risk assets, including Bitcoin.

But this is neither QE nor a guarantee of growth for $BTC . Morgan Stanley itself notes that the operation is temporary and does not change the long-term interest rate trend.

👉 Therefore, the key number to watch right now is the actual buyback volume on September 10.
