【Today Solana Upgrades, but Solana Memes Haven’t Rallied】

Today’s biggest technical news in the space: the Solana Transaction V1 upgrade is now officially activated. The maximum transaction size increases from 1232 bytes to 4096 bytes—giving triple the room for multisig, zero-knowledge proofs, and batched transactions. In October, the larger Alpenglow consensus-layer upgrade will follow next.

Technical outlook: SOL is consolidating around $104 today and has already held above the 0.5 Fibonacci level ($104.44). The next target is $114.89.

But here’s an interesting divergence to note: Solana’s on-chain fee revenue Q/Q has fallen by 44%, and Solana’s share of global on-chain fees has dropped from 26.6% to 17.3%. In other words—real on-chain usage is shrinking, and TVL is being supported by existing capital rather than new inflows.

Meme sector: Solana Top10 Memes over the past 24 hours saw about $85.16 million in trading volume. $fone is leading with $13.53 million, with no new stars emerging.

My take: the Solana upgrade is a good thing, but it’s “building the foundation for the future,” not a signal that “Solana memes are about to explode today.” If you’re tracking the Solana meme ecosystem, it may be more prudent to wait until Alpenglow is live and then assess whether it brings in new capital.

Are you more focused on Solana’s technical narrative, or do you think ETF fund flows are the indicator you should be watching right now?👇
