Christine D. Kim said on X that Bitcoin Core developers held their weekly meeting last Thursday to discuss whether the team has fallen behind on AI applications. According to Odaily, Spiral head Steve Lee said donors and community members are concerned that Core has not done enough to defend against AI-related cyber threats or to use AI for code review, testing, and troubleshooting.
More than 5,200 Bitcoin addresses have been hacked this month, with losses of more than 1,800 BTC. Hackers reportedly used Kimi K3 to find a vulnerability in the Coldcard wallet, and the CLN client urgently patched a critical flaw after a surge in AI-generated reports.
