The Tides in the Storage Sector Have Retreated $MU — Retreating Fastest as a Leading Ticker
First, look at the tides. This round of storage chips is a collective high tide. $NVDA , MU, $SNDK , and $SKHYNIX were all pushed up together by the tide. MU rose from 920 to 1058, a gain of 14.9%, making it one of the leading tickers. But on September 8, the tide started to ebb. The whole sector surged and then pulled back together—NVDA, SNDK, and SKHYNIX all saw heavy volume and large bearish candles; MU followed suit. This indicates it’s not an individual-stock issue—the tide has changed.
Next, look at the waves. 1058.09 was the peak of this tide move. The trading volume was the highest in recent times. Then it immediately closed with a large bearish candle, and the price retreated to 1030, down 2.6%. The ticker that was the highest during the high-tide phase is also retreating the fastest during the ebb, because the profit-taking positions are thickest, leading to the heaviest sell pressure.
Finally, look at the shoreline. 1058 is the tide top. 1040–1045 is the first probing short-sell zone during the ebb. 1030 is the current water level. 1000–1010 is the first shoreline (prior base). 970–980 is the second shoreline. 920.88 is the starting point of the ebb. Once the tides turn, it won’t end in just one or two days. The safest approach is to follow the direction of the ebb.
Trading idea: short the rebound at 1040–1045, set a stop loss at 1060, target 1000–1010. If it breaks, look for 970–980.
Now—have you already made it to shore along with the tide, or are you still stuck out on the wave? Feel free to share. From the perspective of the tides, I’ll help you think about what to do next.
