Yet the ETF hasnāt been approved at allādid the market misread it again?

Recently, SHIB has shown a new development in Japan thatās worth paying attention to. š„
In the āGreen Listā released by the Japan Virtual and Crypto Assets Exchange Association (JVCEA) on September 1, SHIB officially appeared, and there are now nine member companies that handle this asset. At the same time, SHIB has also entered crypto services related to Mercari via Coincheck.
Doesnāt it look like Japan is giving SHIB the green light?
But thereās one crucial difference here:
ā ļø Exchange access does not equal ETF approval!
At present, there is no reliable record showing that Japan has submitted or approved a SHIB ETF.
In other words, the claim circulating in the communityāāSHIB is on Japanās green list, so the ETF is about to be approvedāāactually mixes two completely different things together.
So what does Japanās latest change really mean? š
First, SHIBās trading entry points have indeed expanded.
The JVCEA green list shows that SHIB is currently handled by nine member companies. For comparison, BTC has 29, ETH has 28, and XRP has 19. So while SHIB hasnāt reached the coverage level of mainstream assets, it has already gained clearer market access.
Whatās even more noteworthy is Mercari.
Through Coincheck, Mercari-related services have added a range of crypto assets, including SHIB. Mercariās total number of registered accounts has already exceeded 4 millionāabout 90% of surveyed users previously had no experience trading crypto. Of course, that doesnāt mean all 4 million will trade SHIB.
But for a meme coin thatās driven mainly by retail traders, gaining a new entry point on a major consumer platform is, in itself, a signal worth watching. š
However, I believe whatās truly important is this:
Japan is gradually bringing crypto assets into a clearer regulatory framework.
In July this year, Japanās National Diet passed relevant amendments to financial laws, but passing a law and officially taking effect are two different thingsāand you canāt directly conclude that āa SHIB ETF has been approved.ā
