9.8 Gold Midday Strategy

Market Analysis
During the day, the gold price rose and then fell back, forming a clear downward move. After a brief dip, it rebounded slightly. It is currently consolidating below the Bollinger Band middle line. On the 5-minute timeframe, the MACD has turned near the low and the green histogram bars have started to narrow; there is a minor short-term need for repair. However, the Bollinger channel is still trending downward overall. The bearish-led structure has not changed, so any rebound should not be treated as a reversal.

Fundamentals
The U.S. initial jobless claims data was stable. The market continues to weigh the Fed’s policy path, and rate-cut expectations are still not able to rise meaningfully. The U.S. dollar remains resilient. Although geopolitical risks in the Middle East are still present, there has not been a substantive escalation. Safe-haven buying is therefore unlikely to sustain and cannot easily drive a strong rebound in gold prices.

Trading Plan
Place short positions in the rebound range of 4410–4420.
