two ways to buy NVIDIA stock from Ukraine.
one is insured for $500,000 by a federal law of the United States.
the other one isn’t.
here is where the difference is, and where it is not.
---
what is a traditional broker for a Ukrainian resident
there are not many available options. the most common are Interactive Brokers and Freedom Finance. both provide access to real US stocks. you become a shareholder of the company directly.
Interactive Brokers: minimum deposit - $0. Freedom Finance: from $200 depending on the tariff.
both are registered in the United States and are members of SIPC, the American investor insurance fund. if a broker goes bankrupt, SIPC reimburses up to $500,000 to the account ($250,000 in cash).
bStocks is not a member of SIPC. never. BTech Holdings -g- is an ADGM-registered SPV in Abu Dhabi. the American federal insurance fund does not apply to it.
this doesn’t mean that bStocks are unsafe. it means the protection is different. and you need to understand it.

real-time trading for a Ukrainian user
The NYSE is open from 9:30 to 16:00 New York time.
for Kyiv, this means: from 16:30 to 23:00 in summer (UTC+3). in winter - from 17:30 to 00:00.
if you want to buy a stock at 8 a.m. on Saturday - through a broker, it’s not possible. through bStocks - it is possible.
but there’s a detail that is usually not written down.
buy bStocks at 8 a.m. on Saturday - yes. convert them back into the real stock (via Nest Trading) - only during NYSE business hours. i.e., "24/7" is about trading the token on the Binance exchange, not about access to the actual stock at any moment.
for most users, this is not a problem. but it’s worth knowing.
---
dividends: there is no difference
most comparisons write: "the traditional broker pays dividends in full, bStocks keeps 30%."
for a Ukrainian, this is not true.
The US withholds 30% of dividends from all non-residents by default. the rate can be reduced only if there is a tax treaty between the countries. there is no full-fledged bilateral agreement between Ukraine and the US to avoid double taxation.
so via Interactive Brokers - 30%. via bStocks - 30%. there is no difference.
one nuance: through a traditional broker, the dividend ends up in your account in dollars. through bStocks, it is automatically reinvested after withholding, as a share of a token.
---
ownership rights and voting
through a traditional broker, you are a shareholder. the company knows that you are there. you can vote at meetings via proxy. you can receive notifications about corporate events.
through bStocks, you own a certificate. the company doesn’t know about you. there are no voting rights. corporate events (splits, mergers) are handled automatically via smart contract.
for most retail investors, this is not critical. Apple’s or NVIDIA’s decision won’t change from a single vote. but if you buy shares with the intention to take part in the company’s business, a traditional broker provides something that bStocks does not.
---
where bStocks gives something that no other broker does
this is the only point where the comparison is incorrect—because there is no competition.
through a traditional broker, the stock sits in your account and does nothing else. selling or holding—those are all the options.
through bStocks, the same NVIDIA position can be:
- to provide credit for Venus or Lista and earn interest
- add as liquidity on PancakeSwap or Aster
- use as collateral for a margin position
and at the same time, dividends from the underlying stock continue to accrue.
no broker in the world provides this. it’s not an advantage over a broker. it’s a different product category.

a brief comparison

summary
bStocks and the traditional broker solve different tasks.
the broker provides: legal ownership, SIPC protection, voting rights, a simple and clear structure.
bStocks offers: entry from $5, trading anytime, and the ability to use the position in DeFi in parallel.
the choice depends on what matters more. both instruments are real. both have risks.
understanding the difference before you invest money is the only correct sequence.
